I'm not 100% sure but it looks like this device is made to pair with a bluetooth speaker/headphones and transmit the audio to the speaker via bluetooth with the audio source being from the 3.5mm jack. It can also pair with a phone but only for the purposes of sending audio for phone calls to the bluetooth speaker.

If I'm not mistaken it sounds like you want to hear the audio from the 3.5mm jack, via bluetooth, on your phone. I don't think this device will do that.
