Dell Vostro 5630 12 Volt auto adapter?

I would like to be able to run my Vostro from 12 Volts when out and about in my car. Unfortunately, the generic car adapters only seem to have 2 wire connections to the DC plug and the Dell uses 3 wires... the 3rd wire is used to identify the charger and without the connection the laptop is not going to charge.

Talking with Dell Support, they seem vague as to whether a Vostro 5630 will work with a 7.4mm to 4.5mm (3 wire) adapter lead on one of their 7.4mm auto adapters. The adapter in question is this one:

It seems odd that a generic Dell business laptop doesn't seem to have a means of charging while out and about by car.

Other than buying a Dell 7.4mm 12 Volt auto adapter (and 7.4mm to 4.5mm lead) and trying it, and returning it if it doesn't work, anyone know of a 3rd party DC adapter that will work.

I would rather not go down the route of a 12 Volt to 230 Volts AC inverter.

you have some universal 150w chargers with many dc plugs who can accept 120-240 and 12vdc, and they have the miracle pin ID   to start the lappy charging ...
