I finally got around to tackling Adobe Reader DC. Although ledtester's link referred to Windows 10 and 11, I took a dive with IE on my Windows 7 machine. Clicks were a little different, but I was able to find and install an older version (I picked 10.0.0). I may update that choice later, but it definitely has that old feel again. Thank you both.
Why did DC bother me so much? I hate screen clutter, and there were so many panels, dropdowns, and icons, I found it harder than usual reading the document. Not quite as bad as SolidWorks 2007 with context sensitive icon menus, but close. Although I had a perpetual, academic license to SW, it just became unusable for me.
