OpenSource 2D CAD

I'd like to have a 2D cad on my RISC workstation, so I'm looking around.

Found LibreCAD. It looks very interesting and promises to be "ported" to non-mainstream platforms without too many problems.

Feedbacks? Comments? Alternatives?

QCad: Same exact codebase if you disable the paid extensions, and the UI doesn't suck completely (as the librecad UI does)
It's like QCAD is the finished/polished version of librecad

Been using librecad for a while on ubuntu,biggest complaint,which is more likely down to operator error, is the text entry boxes for things like angled lines  are a bit small so you cant see all the info,but apart from that its been a fairly  painless switch from    turbocad.

FreeCAD can be used in 2D "manner" if one likes to. The Draft Workbench is made for that purpose and now if one day you would like to move to 3D you are not far. Word of warning! FreeCAD is not so easy or straight forward to start with but once you have completely rotated your head 2-3 times it does what you wish. I have gone the hard way with it but would not now change.

cheers for that ,only had a short tinker with it but i thinks it might be a keeper as it addresses the issues that bugged me in librecad.
