HELP identify server / motherboard
« on: March 10, 2020, 11:39:21 pm »
**I recently purchased two of these 1U Proliant servers at auction** (cheap)

But I need help **identifying the model and motherboard** details.
It seems to be a full spec system, dual XEON with only 8GB of RAM installed.
P400i RAID accelerator (no battery fitted), dual hot-swap supplies etc.
4x SAS drives installed, and managed to get them into a logical drive, but that's it.

Now, I can't even get past the PXE boot prompt *any more* (to reach the SETUP menus)

Sorry, the new drag & drop function was a bit flakey...

One of the IDs, on the RAID, HP 4k0735 leads to a photo with a caption that suggests it might be a ML350 G5 with socket 771, which is a Xeon package. Edit: well that isn't right, that's a tower server. Anyway with the combination of form factor processor, and other info you should be able to narrow it down. Good luck searching.

Pretty sure it’s a 5th Gen DL360. The SP# in small print on the one label (436066-001) would be the spares part number which shows up on the DL360 G5 spare parts list. See https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c00727353

ok, thanks
That gives me somewhere to look.

Oddly, the case labelling is in Japanese  :) ! despite being pulled from a non-jap government site !  8)

OK - so far...
As an older machine  DL360 G5, I loaded up & had Server 2008 running withut a specially loaded RAID (P400i Smart Array) driver...
Then discovered the application package won't run on 2008

-- Downloaded Server 2019 64-bit EVAL version - and booted the installer from DVD, and of course it asked for a driver  :(
I loaded up a couple of options on USB, but the installation couldn't use any of the drivers.

cp097439
cp028045
cp037451

It tried all three - but it rejected them within 5 secs of starting.   |O
Any suggestions on what I should try next?
