The wifes old desktop power supply was failing so I got her a new computer for Christmas. Have spent the past 4 days sorting the damn thing out. It keeps crashing when trying to install programs, wont update just keeps failing took two days to get chrome on it, I was beginning to think at one point that Microsoft was deliberately crashing at the mention of chrome, I know edge is the same engine and for what the wife needs it is fine but she prefers the look and feel of chrome. Managed to get chrome installed in the end and the other programs turned out the HDD cable was not seated correctly but it still fails on the update. Personally I see no advantage to Win11, they used to say that Windows file system was designed by a kid who just threw every thing on the floor now it feels like the kid is a teenager who has been told to clean their room so has thrown everything into the drawers and cupboards so you have to rummage though everything find the setting you need. |

The various Dell, HP and home-built machines I have all worked fine. |

HP elitedesk from Morgans, looks like it is either the hdd or ram and ram on these is soldered on the board. Wanted this as the wife does not like a cluttered desk and being in a wheelchair has trouble reaching underneath. |
