Ubuntu Won't Let Me Paste Files To Other Drives
« on: November 03, 2021, 01:53:45 pm »
For some reason Ubuntu isn't letting me copy/paste files to other drives such as a thumbdrive.

I didn't have this problem before, no suddenly it seems to be occurring. I check online and found it could be permissions (and/or a bug that isn't getting fixed), but I am uncertain why permissions would change and any changes didn't seem to make a difference.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Post your question here: https://ubuntuforums.org
with more detail than you've presented.

There used to be a bug in the gnome file manager that if you did "cut" and paste rather than "copy" it would always try to do a filesystem level move which would fail if they were on different volumes.  If you can copy and then delete the original, that might help.
