Title: Monitor for Lenovo Thinkcentre
Post by: armandine2 on June 28, 2023, 09:19:11 am
I recently got a reconditioned Lenovo Thinkcentre M910q - without monitor, keyboard or mouse. Somewhat haphazard purchase, as I was unfamiliar with this Tiny Lenovo,  but the key to making a good purchase may be the monitor.

I'm not sure how compatible all the Tiny range are with newer monitors - my Tiny has a product ID 10MUS4B600 and MFG date 1712.

The monitor (not now linked) is in my price bracket - it should be compatible, right  :palm:

No point getting anything over 60Hz refresh rate and if you want it to look 'better' then stick to IPS type displays rather than VA. at 1080 21-23" is ok too.

On the back end of your Lenovo you will likely have a Display Port connector but they are typically a dual purpose one and with a cheap adapter you can run any HDMI monitor too. So this thing or similar if the monitor you find is HDMI only eBay auction: #385625651545

You may also depending on options have a VGA output but that ship sailed a long time ago so avoid that option.

So in the UK as an example this sort of thing eBay auction: #185619660507 or eBay auction: #275885061958 etc......

Dual Purpose is the lowest connector here. The ++ symbol is what makes it that.

Most of these monitors have a VESA mount option anyway so you don't need to spend the $$ on proprietary shit. So grab a Thinkcentre Mount to suit if you want to go that way.

It was going fairly well, until  :palm: recently now the monitor goes into standby and I have to turn it off and on along with the computer power button to get it to power up.  >:(
