Question about the (in)famous Intel LPC bug
« on: April 13, 2022, 04:55:19 pm »
Hi friends.
So there's a huge bug for Intel low-power series CPUs that brick the whole system after 1.5-3 years.
From what I've read, it affects at least Silvermont and Goldmont (2013-2017) generations, which contains many different series, from phones to servers...
My question is, are the CPUs out of these range safe? For example, Goldmont-Plus?
BTW, I have to say Intel does a great job censoring information, they even continue to (make?) and sell the known bad version of chips as of late 2019(!): https://fuse.wikichip.org/news/2649/intel-updates-apollo-lake-more-lpc-reliability-issues/
Thanks.
