Libre Office is substitute for Microsoft Excel? dont know never tried.

For just about anything involving numbers I use Libre Office Calc. Mozilla Thunderbird has a built in calendar section, but I've never needed to use it.

Yeah, there is GnuCash. I have used Grisbi a lot in the past, it was simple and worked well too.

For task planning, TaskCoach is not too bad: https://www.taskcoach.org/

Thanks guys!

During the process of installing gnu-cash, I found I had to rebuild webkit-gtk. It's written in C++ and it eats a lot of stack memory. Something like 2Gbyte or more.

Anyway, it's done and the software runs great.
