It's all automated these days. Sony hire a third party company to do the DMCA legwork for them. They clearly picked the lowest bidder.
The problem is that you're expected to defend your copyright or lose it which is fair enough. The DMCA was supposed to be a way of defending it. Of course human nature managed to to turn this into a complete failure of slop sucking lawyers and then the tech industry damage amplified that with automation.
I think lawyers should only be allowed typewriters and no legal secretaries or computers. That'd kill litigious garbage dead overnight.
