Windows XP activation servers still running?
« on: June 16, 2021, 12:21:19 pm »
This oscilloscope is running Windows XP pro SP3. It came to me for repair for other problems which are resolved, yet it would not activate XP. Network connection was working as it was able to connect to Google, and date/time were set correctly. I ended up having to activate using the phone method which worked. (Boy is that a joy to do!)  >:(

Does anyone know definitively whether the activation servers have finally been taken off-line? I was able to do this just last year in 2020...

I kid you, not the telephone service still works for XP.

Alternatively, you can change the activation key to a volume license one and it won't need activating at all.
Google "Github XP vol keys" or something along those lines.

Yes, that what I was saying above.

Thanks, will give that a try next time.
