Windows 11 - what is this "Connector?"
« on: January 12, 2025, 09:43:31 pm »
Colleagues!

Top left of the navigation screen in my W11 File Explorer is this icon, labelled "Connector".  Clicking on the 'expand' arrow does nothing, and clicking entries on its right-click menu also do nothing.

Any idea what it is?  And how to hide it?

This is some kind of helper-app which helps to share private files on your HDD with some internet guys. It helps internet guys to connect your computer more easier. :)

If you don't want to run it, just remove it.

Ah, of course! I do, indeed, have Siemens Solid Edge installed. (If you are at all interested in CAD, Solid Edge is great and I highly recommend it.)

Thank you both very much, @abeyer and @radiolistener.
