Now I can finally type on my reMarkable Type Folio.

Ordered and received mine.

It's a very comfortable and nice focused typing "distraction-free" device with a breathtakingly slim profile.

Anyone?

Let me say: the keyboard is fantastic, it has the right feeling for a non-mechanical keyboard, offers a very responsive typing experience when you type, and stows when not in use, so you can really forget about it and just enjoy it, even because the clever design of the TypeFolio holds the ReMarkable2 securely.

Got no extra option, mine is very basic (except for the Pro-pen), but I love this device

I'm still otherwise not convinced about those notetaking eInk tablets. Interesting to see that reMarkable acknowledges the fact that if you're going to use a digital device, a keyboard is more efficient than a virtual pen.

I use it to mark up PDF files, like I would with a pen and paper.

Everyone and then, I want to jot down a stream of consciousness - keyboard helps, until I need to squiggle a drawing too.

Btw, mine is air tapped. I have a weird use case.

it's not more efficient, it's a different kind of input device.
I use the pen for drawing, underlining, italic writing, and signing, and the keyboard to write long texts.

Otherwise, is it possible with the Remarkable 2 to:
- Copy the notes to any computer without going through their cloud?
- Copy notes from any computer back to the Remarkable, without going through their cloud, if at all?
- Copy PDFs onto it and read them, without going through their cloud, if at all?

I've hand drawn the flowchart(1) of both my file system and bootloader.

...I have had numerous reMarkable2 updates - it can now draw straight lines, which is good.

it's not something I use, but i don't think it's a problem 


I'm not switching to the Pro, I prefer a grayscale screen.
I was happy to see a new product, which I had the chance to use for 2 hours.
Personal impressions:
- slightly more reactive
- the one inch bigger screen is appreciated, and it's readable even with much less light
- I don't find colors very useful, except for underlining, but I find them a distraction
- impressive technology, anyway!

Well, the Connect subscription fees are not huge at 3€/month, but I hate subscription models (when tied to hardware I already bought) with a vengeance...

Since I got my reMarkable 2 before they went subscription, I have always used the Connect backend and am not entirely sure which features I would lose if I were to drop it. I assume the following all require Connect?

 -  File backup via PC
 -  Managing/adding files (PDFs) via PC
 -  Real-time presentation mode (use reMarkable as graphics tablet, share view on PC screen or in a conference call)
 -  Handwriting recognition?

Like you, I would probably get limited benefit from the color display. But a larger screen would be nice. The accuracy and reproducibility of detecting the pen position sets a limit to the fine detail one can draw, and I would often appreciate a bit more srawing/writing space.

I usually only take notes on the device, and then transfer via USB web interface.

I can drag and drop files into a window to import/export files to/from the reMarkable2.
Easy step, you just need to select files and clicking the Download-button in the upper right corner.
You don't need to be connected to Wi-Fi or the cloud to use this functionality.
Just, the reMarkable2 must be connected with the USB cable before the USB web interface can be toggled on.
