It's got ethernet - do you really need a USB connection to a PC if you can use the ethernet?

If it can save a screenshot direct to a USB stick sometimes it's much more convenient.

Sweet piece of gear!

If it jams, force it.  If it breaks, you needed a new one anyway...

Christmas came early for me. An elf dropped a package at my doorstep yesterday, containing a LeCroy WavePro 960 DSO. Four channels, 2 GHz, 16 GS/s, 16 MS memory. It has many options including Ethernet interface, PCCard slot, hard copy (built in printer), and various math/analysis features including FFT, jitter analysis and more. It works perfectly, and the icing on the cake is that it was calibrated this past summer so it's still within traceable cal! I paid only $1200 USD plus shipping and taxes. Used LeCroy scopes are a tremendous value. Now I have something to use with my Tek P6158 3 GHz low-Z probes (which I scored for $5 each BTW). I'm way too busy today and tomorrow to really play with it, but I'm off for the next two weeks so I'll find time.
That's cool.  :-+
No USB though.  :--  Are card slot to USB readers available ?
A PC card to compact flash adapter will allow a CF card to appear as Hard drive storage unit, which it does support. Floppy drive emulators are also available which allow storage to a disk image on a USB drive, but you are still limited to 1.44 MB at a time, a limitation that doesn't exist with the CF Option. The LAN connection may be even better though.

Another Stanford Research FS700 Loran Timing Generator !!! (4 now :palm:)
But!! This one was under $40 on the bbay , most are over $700  :-DD Local find, so picked up and saved the shipping. Stanford research is in Sunnyvale (Silicon Valley not far from here) They must have cleared out a bunch of cobweb equipment they didn't want to bother with. This thing never got Final Assembly. No case, ROM chip was removed (have some), no OCXO (had one of those too), no cables connected EVER, LCD Protective film still in place (they gave up). Powered it up, but got ERROR! Amplifier Gain too high/low. Found someone must have poked around in the LF353 chain of RF op-amps, and blew up U105. Replaced it, thinking I might be done. WRONG!!!
After much hunting for why the CAL signal did not seem to get amplified I was led to K101 relay, and found a pin that appeared soldered, but NO!!! it was NEVER soldered properly (it's in a dark corner of the board). Up and running now after a few hours playing around with this. These work great with Rubidium signal, or GPSDO signal instead of the LORAN/OCXO.

Sorry for the poor photos.

I bought a HP 8642B on the bay last week, got it today. Advertised as powering up but no display.

Opened it up and the 8A fuse for the 5V supply was missing. Inserted a new fuse, it works.

Paid $255. Boy this is one nut buster piece of test gear, feels like it's full of lead.

Tektronix THS720A isolated 2ch 100MHz oscilloscope + DMM for US$200, door delivered.
Came with 2 sets of fluke DMM leads, an aftermarket power adapter, a BNC coax cable and an aftermarket battery pack fashioned out of NiCd cells. Not bad, I think.

Got a Mantis Elite with arm, 8x and 15x lenses for GBP 150+GBP 50 shipping listed as for parts. (So about $240)

It is not in perfect condition but works well. Lenses are a bit scratched but I hardly notice when using it. It is missing transparent front glass and table mount part. But for that price I cannot complain. :) It could do with a clean of the internal glass at some point. But I'm not complaining at all.

From last month's ITT Tech auction:
2 x GW Instek GOS-6112 Oscilloscopes
2 x GW Instek GDS-830 Oscilloscopes
2 x GW Instek GDS-2102 Oscilloscopes
2 x GW Instek GDM-8251A Bench Multimeters
3 x GW Instek GPD-3303S DC Power Supplies
23 x Rigol DS1102E Oscilloscopes
2 x Rigol DS1102D Oscilloscopes
3 x Rigol DG1022A Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generators

First real auction I've done and even though I did very well, I've got to admit it scared hell out of me. I liked it way too much. I was only hoping to get a couple things for myself and maybe some scopes to turn around and resell to recoup some of the cost. Now I've had to go and turn myself into a part-time used test equipment salesman  :palm:

Yes - so just need a 4x lens and table mount. I did have a Mantis Compact so Elite fitted on my existing table mount. But the Elite gives a slightly larger image (Roughly 20% is I think)  - and the LEDs are slightly brighter - and you get slightly more usable work-space below the lens - plus easy change between 2 lenses.

So now the compact will go to the vacation home where I have a mini-lab. :)

I then picked up a set of replacement Left/Right LEDs for 39 Euro - new and unused on eBay - SRP about $240/Euro 220.

So now only table mount, transparent front and 4x lens and it is complete. But great score - SRP for the parts are around GBP 3000,- USD 3500,-

When I first entered the trade, I made a point of providing new probes and as much documentation as I could find and compiling it onto CD's and advertising the fact. They'll move well, good luck...new name TEnavigator.

Yeah. Probes are cheap and for some reason potential scope buyers are always obsessed with probes.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Well.. that is generalising it quite a bit: garden variety Chinese probes might be cheap, but real ones are not (in general).
