I used the discount code for the first time on 17 Jan (Sunday) to order an AWG. I have in the past ordered test gear from Saelig, but thought I'd take advantage of the discount. That may have been a mistake. So far, my experience with TEquipment has been a disaster.
The free AC voltage indicator (LED thing) was shipped on the 18th (Monday), but the AWG was not. Still not shipped on Wednesday (even though their web site said it should ship on the 18th), so I called. After checking, the lady called me back and said she had no idea why it didn't ship, but that it would ship THAT VERY DAY via UPS Ground. I questioned the Ground shipping, since it should have shipped on Monday. I was told that a manager said I could have 2-day shipping, if I split the cost ($25 extra to me). I said OK, as long as I would have the AWG by Friday.
Surprise, surprise, the AWG did not ship until the next day (Thursday), despite my being told it would ship Wednesday. On top of this, for some reason, UPS says that this 2-day package will not arrive until Tuesday (3 business days).
Needless to say, I'm not impressed with TEquipment and their attention to shipping product on time. I also feel that I have been lied to. When (if) the AWG shows up, I will contact TEquipment and see if I can get the $25 back that I spent on rush shipping. It wouldn't have been necessary if they had shipped when they were originally supposed to (Monday, as indicated by their web site). And since they didn't ship when promised the second time, it will be five days (counting the weekend), instead of two days.
I've ordered equipment from Saelig for both home and work and never had the slightest problem. I don't know if the small discount from TEquipment is worth the hassle, delays and lies.
