Looking forward to the video. It'll be nice to see the man behind the exceptional service.

Me to, he's not in any videos. I think this will be the second YouTube video he in recorded by someone else.
Can't wait to watch that one.

Can't wait to watch that one.

He has some new items in his store that will be available when he returns from holiday.
Link to the item is in the video description.
Here is a couple videos of this new DC constant current DC dummy load.
The second video shows its not just for USB application, but you can add a terminal block to be used with other projects.

A review video of the YZXStudion ZL1000 dummy load, and a video of updates that can be made to the dummy load that will also probably terminate any warranty on it if their is one can be found on this YouTube channel.

Scott, even though I've had a nice TekPower 3710A DC electronic load on my bench for quite some time, your video review of the YZXStudio ZL1000 two weeks ago prompted me to fire off a note to Franky to order one. Thanks for bringing this inexpensive, pocket-sized constant current DC load to my attention, it works quite nicely.

Your welcome, I'm glad it's working good for you. I ended up buying one also for a gift and that's the one I changed the  potentiometer on today.
I just looked up the TekPower, nice unit but a little out of my cost for now. I'm slowly building up the lab over the last year. Maybe I'll search for a used one next year. For now the next thing on my list is a function generation, I've been doing my research for a good used one or a cheap DDS that maybe I can mod to make better. But that's a different thread I will start to get suggestions under test equipment.

The Tekpower load is a rebadged Array 3710A also sold by Circuit Specialists. That being said, the Maynuo and Applent loads look to be a bit better quality.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll open up a new thread soon since I don't want to hijack Fankys thread. But I appreciate the feedback.

Not sure whether to put the video on the primary or secondary channel?
Some interesting chat about Hong Kong, ebay, selling etc, but it's not exactly a universally appealing Jack Ganssle chat.
15min worth.

Primary - he deserves as much publicity as he can get.

Primary, i think that interesting members deserve this if they are in person.  Might also make a good guest on the Amp Hour as well if you find some subjects to talk about.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! It was great hanging out with Dave and we (my family and I) really appreciate him spending the time with us with his very busy schedule. Wasn't expecting to be on camera but what's done is done now and I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much :D I am not really sure I'm worthy of the primary channel though to be honest as I'm just a seller or at best a hobbyist but nothing remotely close to an engineer and we didn't talk about anything technical.

Even when Dave has engineers he rarely stays with engineering topics, often going of wildly on tangents. Even the marathon free e- interview had more about anecdotes and background than the book Vincent wrote.

Thank you Dave for that interview, thanks Franky for you (small) business and answering/chatting with Dave, was really interesting :)

Hi

Thanks for the video.

Comments and questions

- His web site is not working yet  http://franky.com/
but easy to remember  :-+

- Does he check or look for better quality items made in China?  I think this would be a good selling point if he does and states this in his ads.  But since we do not know his full time job, maybe he would not know how to test electronic stuff?  I assume not.   I wish there would have been some discussion on quality.  But my guess it would be tough to sell quality items out of China.  :(

- Interesting on the new shipping rules

thanks

Have you at all seen any of the reviews of his stuff?, everything I have bought so far, is of good quality, testleads, probes, powermeters, powersupply etc.. not bad crap like you find everywhere on ebay.
