Cost-effective thermal gap pad

Hi,

I have a project where I'm using 2 solid copper busbars not only for current capacity but also to conduct heat to the aluminium case for cooling.  My plan is to use nylon or insulated bolts to attach them to the case and ensure a snug fit.  Clearly I'll need an appropriate layer between the busbars and the case to prevent current flow but also be a competent thermal conductor.  I've looked at a bunch of products that seem to fit the bill but I'd welcome advice from those who have actually faced this problem as to configurations, thicknesses and products used.

Look for heat sink silicone sheets.

many different types and thicknesses. Some are in sheet form.

I use them to transfer heat from DC to DC converters to the aluminum frames of my sculptures. The nice thing is you don't need a milled flat surface if the pad is thick enough, and the parts can handle lower heat transfer rates due to the greater gap.
