A list to let Siglent know what we want from them generally (across product lines).

Let me start with my wish:

Every instrument needs a web server built in.  This is just an amazing and powerful feature that they would change the landscape by including web control/monitoring in their entire product line.

Things are certainly moving this way and following existing product lines that provide webservers.
The new DMM, PSU and portable analyzers coming all are listed with webservers.

Even my 2yr old SPS5000X SMPS offers it.

It needs to come down the line a few thousand dollars too.  Seriously, this is not a major expense.  In the past very affordable instruments had this ability.  Today it seems like, WTF!  Just put it in!!!!

To add my own wishes....in no specific order.

A better priced and fuller range of passive probes....especially for those instruments that support probe detection.
100x probes.
Even just one BNC cable with SDG1000X models. 
Manuals/SW on a Siglent branded USB or SD card for all instruments and specific to each instrument.

Maybe you totally underestimate the power of instrument webservers.
Remote control and the many ways it can be used might surprise you.

One of the first SDS2104X-P we sold within days identified an issue a company was having at a remote site with the scope set correctly to trigger and Single shot on this event and monitored remotely.
This issue had bugged then for 18+ months.
Further, with the connectivity path set correctly the screenshot of the incident was sent and saved locally for them to analyze and time stamped !

This is current supported for 4ch X-E DSO range as an option......these are 200 MHz max DSO's operating well below any 2.4 GHz WiFi.

TBH we have more issues with the horribly noisy SMPS from LED lighting or POS wallwarts than anything that 2.4 GHz WiFi can produce.

In general, from the screenshots on this forum, it looks like the competitors did siphoned all UI designers out from Siglent, so the GUI is designed there by coders. A systemic problem.

Let me guess, you prefer the crowded bubble-gum and crayon UI of the Rigol?   

The Siglent UI(s) are clean and efficient and leave a little room to display the signal.

If you don't want to use a built in webserver, then don't. But I also want web servers on all my Siglent gear. I would love to take better screenshots with less effort on my DMMs and AWG.

Rigol is now a public company. They hired a lot of game designers, who'd managed to form a self-sufficient gang there, exploiting the fact that the new leadership lost the plot. However, the professional competency is demonstrated. Like or hate it, but that does not make the coder's GUI better

Well,

R&S RTB2000/ RTM3000/ RTA4000 don't have external Ref IN.  Ref IN starts only with MXO 4/5
Keysight has Ref In first on MSO-X 4000A. Not even for 3000T/G..

So it obviously is not that common or necessary for general use.

Agree completely - it's pretty uncommon to need an external reference for "normal" oscilloscope measurements, especially compared to other instruments like spec an and sig gens.

Even our "entry-level" spectrum analyzer (FPC1000) supports a ref in.

For me it would be the ability to change the Y-axis label in the bode plot function. Preferably I would like to set the Y-axis label by means of a formula.

I suggested this before but it was ignored. But more people might be interested now that some people with an 800 X HD are playing with the bode plot to characterize components and stuff.

  Could you (and/or other posters) provide some scenarios where you would find a ref in to be be helpful / necessary when using an "entry level" scope?  How much extra would you be willing to pay - in absolute dollars or as a percent of base scope price - for a ref in?  And would this need to be a dedicated connector or would it be acceptable to share the ref in connector with other functions (like trigger in)?

I can ask our scopes product manager about this, but I'm curious to get feedback from the forum as well.   Thanks!

Spare parts for probes would be nice. I sometimes damage the probe hooks and the springs get lost.
