I used to absolutely love Horizon; watched it for decades. But I just can't bear to watch it now, nor any other documentary programme regardless of how potentially interesting the content, because they have all adopted this ridiculous, panting, breathless narration style, accompanied usually by a sodding drone underneath. They also seem incredibly repetitive, stuffed full of hyperbole, and composed of sub-five-second cuts. It's like the visual equivalent of a somebody running an audio track through a compressor turned to 11. So, since factual programmed were the only things I could bear to watch anyway, the bloody telly can sit silent in the corner of the room as far as I'm concerned.

Evidence to the contrary notwithstanding, I am not 86, nor did I fight a war for the likes of you. Not that there's anything wrong with being 86. Or fighting wars.

Cheers
John
