Just about to get my first coffee of the day, and what do I see from my window?

Another 15 minutes, and it was gone.

There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".

What can I see? Well, if I'm outside looking in, I see my workshop...  :P

Well, not anymore but just an hour or so ago I could see three firefighting trucks, two inflatable jump cushions, a police negotiator and a fairly sizeable gathering of onlookers because an idiot living one floor above me called them and threatened to jump. Then he proceeded to yell at them, threatening to sue them all for unnecessary intervention :palm:

Working from home almost the whole time these days, I've moved a lot of my home working to the kitchen table view rather than being stuck in my windowless lab.

It's meant I've caught a couple of unexpected events.

Someone working on a construction project fell into the Thames, and a passing commuter boat made a diversion to fish the victim out, they certainly knew what they were doing and had already prepared rigging out of the side of the boat. This is tidal and the victim was being vigorously swept upstream at faster than walking pace, the police car and ambulance were following along.

Rather sadly during the lockdown restrictions a small launch with four people and a skipper moored up outside and scattered the ashes of their loved one.
