I'm not affiliated but I put EEVBlog in the URL ref= line so they can join the discussion if they dare.

It is a Embedded ? Simulator and development environment - with some ? .NET integration with apparently support for a lot of different platforms.

but it is subscription based with early bird prices of $500/year as minimum - I do not do subscriptions... so it is not for me. But could be "fun" to try but I wonder if they are overreaching. But seems like they want to be the Xamarin of mobile development.

Muh? Don't know enough about the SW side of things to know if this is anywhere near feasible, but with 1111 1111 1111 1111 you'd have about enough to make all those shiny videos and renders, not much more.

So either all this stuff sounds awesome but is really nothing much to write home about ("Hey Look ma, I have a blinking LED!" "Great, what else can it do?" "Uuuuuhhh....", they have a small mountain of cash to run on (can't run a team of 10 on a 64k budget, not even in India) of ze zijn de kluit aan het belazeren.

These kind of projects are the usual "what you are trying to do is not really supported" projects.

I'm having a hard time understand what this does. From reading it, it sounds like either it is a full-fledged microcontroller emulator or it is just an software api layer that runs on a PC. If it is the former, that can be helpful but any emulator has its limits. No idea how it would emulate a PSoC considering how programmable it is. It is also hard to create a project where so many different kinds of hardware are being emulated. If it is just a software api layer I don't see it being very helpful. So many features of the hardware wouldn't be available since you are limited to the API. Actual hardware behavior just as timing wouldn't be properly duplicated. Could you debug OTA firmware updates? Likely not.

It kinda reminds me of the whole graphical programming fad that shows up a lot. Not that it is a similar goal, but in that it is a lofty idea the promises a lot, but when it comes down to it, everyone will just use what works.

This maybe desired by a few arduino style developers. I really don't see why anyone in their right mind would want this when they can just attach a logic analyser to a development board and monitor the device operating in realtime.

If emulators aren't 100% true to the device, which they never are due to time restraints in the OS, then they're just going to cause bug creeping

For the cost of just a few months renting this simulator, they could buy one.
