I put together a video showing how I got SDR#, WXtoImg, and Orbitron to play nice together and receive APT weather satellite imagery automagically using one of those RTL SDR dongles and a quadrifilar helix antenna.

I was really happy with the image quality, even though the antenna is in the attic (hey, it's cold here). I had previously tried using a police scanner to receive the signal from these satellites, but the narrow bandwidth made for very poor image quality. No such problem with SDR, just type in the bandwidth and go.

I'll bet a lot of folks here have one of these dongles and the parts to build an antenna. And hey, the weekend is coming up!

I hope you enjoy it.
