Appa 205 / banana plug replacement
« on: September 23, 2019, 07:37:29 am »
A few of the banana plugs on this Appa 205 desktop multimeter broke. They need replacement so I'll just replace all of them. I can't find a spare part however. I've spent a few hours trying to look up a service manual, and digging through google/farnell/mouser/... It doesn't look like anything I know. The thread seems to be 3/32" or something 2.3~2.4mm. Anyone got any pointer?

Doesn't look like an easy task.

You could try asking the manufacturer.

If only the the brass part (male thread?) is broken and you are able to remove the remains from the banana, that looks like the spacers used behind tower PC mainboards. Wide thread, not metric.

If all else fails you could try tailoring another banana to fit the job, either the inner part of a stackable wire-end banana (male end will need threading to receive a nut) or removing part of or all the plastic from one similar to link below.
