Repairing a laptop Asus UX32V
«

Hi,
I am trying to fix a dead laptop (power jack) and while trying that I noticed that someone has already tried to open the laptop and they broke a connector.
The connector is a 7pin connector, the touchpad flatcable goes into it. it seems that one part is also missing (the one keeping the flat pressed).
Any hints where to grab one? connector name?
See in picture.

Its an FPC connector, Mouser, Digikey and other carry them, measure the pin pitch, count the number of contacts and of you go searching.
That is one that as a little black "lever" on the top.

It's an 8 pin connector.

Would it still possible to assemble/disassemble the PC if the FPC cable was not removable ? If so you might get away with sliding the FPC cable under the pins and definitively solder them onto it.

Damn me and my eyes.. ja 8pin
Thanks a lot!!! I will just buy
.
PS: I don't mind investing some bucks on this laptop, as it is supposed to be good (i7 + Nvidia), and it was to trash as the power jack on the motherboard was broken and someone not really skilled also broke the connector making a mess of everything
Thanks again to everyone!!!
