5 band resistor identification (SILVER third band)
« on: September 14, 2019, 04:52:19 am »
Hello, I didn't expect to need help identifying a blown resistor, but thought it's better safe than sorry.

Bands are:
RED, RED, SILVER, GOLD, BLACK

Is it a .22R? (assuming it reads left to right) What's stumped me is that it is a 5 band resistor but with SILVER as the third band. If the GOLD represents tolerance, then what does the BLACK signify?

Any tips to identify? Photo attached. Many thanks!

An old British Standard. Your resistor looks to have a tolerance and temp. co efficient as well.
