samsung 920n monitor video problem
« on: July 13, 2014, 11:29:16 am »
Hi, can someone help me with this defect.
So far i do this
1 Check the routes, seams, connections jacks, solder ok
2 Check the components, especially capacitors with ESR meter  ok
3 Check the power supply  ok

It seems that the problem is in the video or display , has anyone an idea?

check the driver board on the LCD panel itself (one under the don't touch very delicate or similar warning),but be careful. might be that a component (or multiple) is shorting onto the metal surround. had a similar issue with a AUO and some other cheaper panels where the capacitors where shorting to the casing (might be able to hear a buzz or clicking). just an idea from experience.

Probably problem on logic/driver board, check caps there, possibly change them. Or just try with different screen panel.

I had a screen with the same issue. I'm sure it's the display because I tried with another one and it worked fine. It could also be the ribbon going tot the screen. I didn't find any obvious faults on the screen pcb and it wasn't worth the time because the usual suspects are the chips on the flex cables and the connections with the glass.

to me it looks like a bad panel, i would open the screen till you can play with the tabs and see if it changes.
