Torn off mini USB connector

How salvageable is this PCB with a torn off mini USB connector? This is the PCB from a Samsung SE-208 external optical drive, and from what I can tell it has suffered a fall and the removable USB cable connection took the brunt of it. They really need to be putting extra epoxy on these surface mount USB connectors. The pads have been ripped right off but I wanted to know if it was even worth trying to repair.

Mmm, there's misuse or abuse that no manufacturer can account for.
That it ripped all the pads off indicates (to me) that it was pretty well secured.
I repaired the same uUSB socket that had ripped off on a drawing tablet....same cause, but the pads were still intact. 
Good luck but for something like that and for the time you'd spend on it....well no, bin it.

Looks perfectly repairable. It all depends on your skill.

That DVD thing costs $60 new, so it is not worth paying someone for repair, but would be a good chance to test and improve your skills.

Secured as well as any surface mount micro USB connector, i.e. not very well at all.  Surface mounting the data/power connections is fine, but the mounting tags should always be through hole whenever possible.
