Magnetic sensor for rotor
« on: February 09, 2016, 03:37:35 pm »
In the follow up of my K3NG rotor interface, that the objective it's to replace the Yaesu controller.

Looking at the 4O3A new rotor genius < http://4o3a.com/index.php/products/station-automation/rotator-genius > that is working with an magnetic sensor, on the boom of the antenna, I was thinking to do the same with an HCM5883L or similar sensor inside an IP66/67 case and UTP cable till the interface.

Question is would the sensor be affected by RFi when talking or not?

Most of the time, first the rotor is turn, then the PTT is push to make the QSO, so maybe this is not the problem, only if the chip get's stuck and don't send any info.

Any sugestions?
