It's usually because the vendors' contracts with the suppliers forbid them from advertising a price lower than the one set in the contract.

I guess it showed the price because I was logged in...

And some vendors do not tell you shipping charge until checkout, and some do not tell it untill you have submitted the order. I usually avoid buying from such places.
