I've finally joined the Fluke 87V club, brand new for $300! Not a bad deal at all in Australia.
I also picked up a Hakko FX-100 for the same price, but it doesn't include a tip so I can't play around with it for a while. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the JBC, gotta see if the RF heating system is all that it's cracked up to be.
I took a quick peek inside the FX-100, the transformer has 220/230/240 taps, so unfortunately we won't be able to use an imported 100/110V model without a step down. Hakko are usually pretty expensive for 230V models, so that's a shame. Suncon and Nichicon caps inside, didn't have the macro lens on me so no teardown photos just yet, I will post some when I do a mini-review.
Kind of boring in some ways, but a very nice to an RF guy. Got a killer deal off the 'bay.

Nice What RF Gal doesn't appreciate that.
Don't you guys think that by listing your test equipment scores you are unintentionally driving up the cost of used test equipment?
My apologies if I'm sounding sinicle I have notice the price of test equipment go quite a bit. This is a very popular forum the clue is in this part.

Yes, I think that awareness can increase demand, and that when demand increases and supply stays constant, average selling prices rise. This is basic market economics.
If people didn't share, it would remove a source of upward price pressure, but it would also reduce the utility of used test equipment.

No need to feel cynical. This is what's known as a seller's market. So, if you don't need stuff, now may be the time to sell while the prices are still high!

$150.00 USD shipped - no pretty wood box though. If they aren't new they are very very close to it, they are mint. I have some other Agilent and Narda loads rated to 18 GHz, it's pretty easy to see the difference as I get past 3 GHz with the new load. I found some protective caps and a box with foam to keep them cozy.

Picked this up last week.
tenma 72-5000 frequency counter.
One of my customers buys and resells stuff.
Gave it to me for free
maybe do a tear down on it.
Just arrived from EvilBay - HP 3561A Dynamic Signal Analyzer. Got it for a song, listed as for parts/not working - won't power up, fuse good. The unit appears to be in good physical shape with a near pristine front panel (the white mark near the left edge of the display in the image that appears to be a scuff is in fact a reflection from the window nearby). Fingers crossed that it's something simple like a shorted cap somewhere loading down the power supply. I'll hopefully get a chance to poke at it tonight. It was built in 1985, based on the s/n.

Very nice Pat; my money is on an easy and timely fix.

It looks like it's new. Very nice!

It does look almost new. I'll be sure to take pics when I open it up to try to figure out what ails it.

Cool can't wait to see it's innards.
I started a new thread on it here in the test gear section titled 'HP 3561A Dynamic Signal Analyzer Repair'. Pics of some of the innards are there.

HP E3615A bench power supply 20V/3A, in very good condition. A bit pricey at £170, but fully working. This series (E3614A-E3617A 60W range) are very nice quiet, stable PSU's with adjustable current limiting and OVP.
Got the "tank", the HP 6624A Quad Bench Power Supply (with relais option), sold "as is" for $150.
Received it (excellent saae packed, tested it (incl. GPIB) and it worked perfect. Just a minor bend connector at the rear.
An excellent hunt.
Unused lightning arrestor N-type male female connector and some HF cabling (also seems unused). Don't really need it, but is was only 50 cent together

Nice. I saw some locally for $250. That's a good deal at $150.
Just picked up an Agilent 33120A AWG with the external ref in/out option for a great deal off the 'bay. Yes it is older but it has wonderful specs in the audio region and I just couldn't pull the trigger on a lower end Rigol/Siglent.

Very nice score, especially with the external ref in/out option
The only thing this one falls short on is a missing pulse setting but you probably do not need that for audio testing.

Nice! I have one the same, and it is a great little generator. IMHO the only real drawback for audio use is in level settability - you will probably need an external switched attenuator such as a 355C. On the other hand, the output low is not connected to mains earth, which can be a curse in low-level audio.
Picked up some more goodies this evening locally. They were off the 'bay again but were local pickup only.
Got an Anritsu 69017B 10 Mhz to 8.4 GHz CW generator - it has a few faults but was only 250 bucks
Got 4 Metcal SP200 soldering stations for 30 bucks each
Mini Circuits 10/20/30 db 0-6 GHz SMA and N attenuators for 10 bucks each
And a Fluke 8012A bench meter for 12.50 for a friend.
Fingers crossed the Anritsu can be repaired!
