Thanks for your feedback.
I currently have a DS1954z with a hack.
Unfortunately, I'm always missing a logic analyzer. As I'm currently remodeling my space, a new device with a Vesa mount is perfect.
I use it more as a hobby. What other alternatives are there for logic analyzers?

What is it that you need to analyze?

The DHO900 is quite expensive once you add everything and the sample rate isn't very high and the screen is quite small.

The serial decoders in the DHO800 are much better than the DS1054Z.

(well, the entire 'scope is much better - it makes the DS1054Z look like an antique)

I had both and I think DS1054Z is much better and much less problematic.

From the beginning to this day, firmware in a DHO800/900 is a piece of sh*t, written by some interns. Only one positive side is hackable (even up to the 1 GHz) bandwidth.

No, it's just You in one single post. Since when all members from entire forum can make single post together?

I don't want to analyze anything special. I now have an AZ Delivery Logic Analyzer. I would have liked to have something in one device. I already have enough stuff lying around. Unfortunately, the DHO800 series doesn't have one built in.
I had already been thinking about a DS1074Z-S back then, but at the time I had no use for a logic analyzer.

That seems like a rather distorted take on the DHO800. I had the DS1054Z for many years, and the DHO1074 (largely the same firmware as the 800) for a couple of months. While I eventually decided for the competing SDS814X HD from Siglent, I would certainly say that the DHO800 is better than the DS1000Z in many respects -- and I am not aware of a single aspect where it is worse:

12 bits; higher bandwidth option available; more memory; decoding from full memory; higher screen resolution; touch screen; dual flex encoders for parameter setting; HDMI output. I wish they would optimize the UI's use of screen real estate a bit more (like in mrisco's modified version), but again, I am not aware of a situation where the old DS1054Z displays more/better information on its lower-resolution screen.

So in which respects do you find the DS1054Z "better and less problematic"?

C'mon... give us one example of something you've analyzed before.

(or two...)

In case you have not seen it, there is a relevant parallel thread which is active at the moment: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/what-to-buy-dedicated-logic-analyzer-vs-the-new-scopes-aka-sds824dho924(s)/msg5730101/#msg5730101

I'm not sure "something in one device" is necessarily better. If you could elaborate where your current DSO1054Z + cheap AZ Delivery logic analyser falls short of your needs, it would be easier to make suggestions.

Maybe you need a better scope (12 bits?); maybe you need a better USB/PC-based logic analyser (faster? more channels?); maybe you actually need to see analog and digital channels on the same screen. Please let us know what functionality you are currently missing.

So in which respects do you find the DS1054Z "better and less problematic"?

Measurements taking less space and using them takes much less time. Much less bugs. Faster boot is useful when You need scope 1-3 times per day to check something - which is often the case when You have repair workshop.

Sounds like you need one of those Zeeweii 'scopes:

Leave the Rigol for the pros.

As you know, the new firmware version 00.01.04.00.02 supports the new DHO824 model with a bandwidth of 200 MHz and a memory depth of 50M, so you can change your DHO8xx to 824, and not to 924 with its non-working logic analyzer panel.
I recompiled (for Windows) the utility from zelea2, adding the DHO824 model to it.
Other community members also added the 824 model to this utility:
- for Mac OS - https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-dho800900-new-firmware-v00-01-04-00-02-2024111/msg5729989/#msg5729989
- for Android, to run directly on the oscilloscope - https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/rigol-dho800900-new-firmware-v00-01-04-00-02-2024111/msg5732037/#msg5732037

My Symantec is silent. On VirusTotal the result is 3 out of 72. So your antivirus is clearly paranoid :)

Avast Linux isn't free.  Most Linux users looking for malware protection choose ClamAV.

Speaking as a developer: Antivirus is a pain in ass these days.

I get people calling me all the time saying "It says it's a virus!!!" when they try to install things.

Such is life.
