PCB board requirements
    General:
    • It is powered by 5V, 2A, USB-B connector. There is a manual switch ON/OFF on the board.
    • It charges a ceramic high voltage capacitor (HVC) of 100uF up to 1kV Target Voltage.
    • A discharge is automatically triggered upon the charge on HVC reaching a Target Voltage.
    • Discharge occurs through a thyristor, alike the Vishay VS-ST380CH06C1, into a superconductor.
    • When the power switch is switched OFF, the HVC discharges slowly and safely in a dummy resistor or light emitter over <10sec period of time.
    • Size: PCB volume is <2dm3.

    There are following indicators:
    • A digital display of the voltage across HVC, precision <20V.
    • A red diode indicating “charging” state for HVC.
    • An orange diode indicating the current charge across HVC being  >50V.
    • A green diode indicating “charged” state for HVC at Target Voltage.

There are following manual controls, that can be realized via some variable capacitor or resistor or switch, adjusted using a screwdriver or other means:
    • The charging speed can be regulated in range 1W-10W, in ~1W steps.
    • The Target Voltage of HVC can be set between 300V and 1kV with precision ~50V.

Context
The built PCB is intended to be used for some private R&D project to build a demonstrator for a part in a space-propulsion system. If successfully validated, the PCB would overgo a high-end respin with some microcontrollers onboard, to allow it to be managed on a satellite.

You can reach me out with PM, and we can exchange private contact info later.

If you want to hear back from the OP, you probably should contact him via the channels mentioned in his post. He has not been back to this forum since May 3rd.
