I think these are okay, especially if they can do a lot of them fast and cheap. I think it's difficult to make shorts from educational content.
How about making shorts from "wow" moments, disappointment moments, giggling moments. E.g. from oscilloscope and other electronics tear-down videos. I remember in some videos you was very surprised by some strange engineering decision on enclosures, PCBs, etc. Some laughable moments with medical device internals installed with lots of adhesive tape or something, don't remember exactly.
2-3 seconds of your reaction, 2-3 seconds then zoom-in on pcbs/something, repeat or continue this pattern.. make it loopable. I think I can do this, but I am only started last year, so my video editing experience may be not enough. Here are two examples of my shorts:

or.. ask a short company to find these "ha-ha", "wow", "eh" moments in your videos, combine with zoom-in on actual PCBs, enclosures, schematics. Avoid explanations and theory.
