Syd/Aus - transformer winder position
« on: March 23, 2023, 09:32:53 am »
I know it's a long shot but if anyone in Sydney is looking for work I need someone to wind transformers. They are mostly toroidal (like a donut with wire wrapped through the hole). We're on the lower North Shore of Sydey, close to public transport (bus at door, station 15 mins walk) and have on-site parking. Hours can be somewhat flexible once you know what you're doing. Could be full time or down to 20hrs/week part time. It's a "work in the factory" job - no something you can do from home.

The job itself suits someone who likes working with their hands and has "mechanical sympathy" with the machines - when things aren't going right they sound different before it all goes totally down the tubes. In some ways it's a mix of "art" and production - making a good transformer is somewhat magic.

I used to think that it was something anyone could pick up because I didn't find it too hard. I've since learnt that isn't the case! But for the right person it isn't too hard to get the basics.

If you're interested drop me a DM and let's talk!
