Simple stuff samples for Kicad.
« on: June 04, 2018, 09:11:50 pm »
Hello!

I need to make a pcb with two linear power supplies, 78xx type. I never used a PCB design tool. I've install Kicad. I understand it has a steep learning curve at the begining, as any other cad tool.

As what I need is very simple, I thought I would find online varios examples that I could load into kicad, modify size and shape and minor things and have it done quick enough while at the same time learn how to use the tool.

I found some examples but of really complex boards. I could not find simple thing like power supplies, through-hole stuff, etc.

Does anybody know of a source of these ?

Thanks.

When new to KiCad your first task will be to get acquainted to the user interface.

I found the "Getting started with KiCad" pdf a very good entry point.
With it I was guided through the whole workflow and designed my first (very symplistic) PCB in a single afternoon.
