Is Kicad down?
« on: March 03, 2014, 09:14:20 am »
The second day I am trying to access it and am getting an error.

http://www.kicad-pcb.org/

Is this the correct URL? I would like to try KiCad.

There is a discussion on their mailing list for the issue.

According to the mailing list, it's down more than a week. That's lame. These days you can get decent web hosting for almost nothing. It doesn't reflect well on this project.

I doubt it's the hosting company, it is much more likely a sysadmin with the project that's on vacation or something silly like that.

I asked about it on twitter.  I find it highly unlikely that they don't already know, but I'll see if I can post an update here when I have one.

The website is a recurring issue. There has been discussion about mitigation on the dev mailing list.

zapta, this might help: https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kicad-product-committers/kicad/product/view/head:/INSTALL.txt

Also, https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/kicad-users/info
I'd rather a Google clue, link, or some theory than "do this" (generally)
