Title: Lock grid properties option?
Post by: MasterT on December 31, 2023, 06:08:26 am
Is there an option to block any changes of the griid properties?
I always have a problem with my KiCAD changes grid size randomly, seems w/o any reason.
Creating new schematic, do copy paste - have to re-set size back to my preferable 1.27, several times every day.
thanks.

I am not aware of a function to lock the grid. But grid should not change "randomly" either. There are some shortcut keys that influence grid settings, for example by pressing the n key. You can search for grid related hotkeys with Preferences / Preferences / Hotkeys and then enter grid in the search box.

Could be, I use "M" tto move elements and ocasioanly missed to press "M" , insted N or < or even B. KiCAD doesn't indicate that settings just change (would be nice to have, floating balloon or something ) amd I get noticed only when trying to snap new wire or components and it doesn't fits.
I will try to re-map short key - to have nothing around "M" , thanks.
