No "back-delete" in Kicad?
« on: February 09, 2022, 05:45:24 am »
Hi,

I´m using Kicad 6 and came accorss an prob I have´t found a solution for - heck I even don´t know the right phrase for it.
Placing components in the schematic and updating the board, the components are added to the board ready to be positioned ... so far so convenient.
But deleting a component in the shematic doesn´t alter the board.
I now had it a couple of times where those components remained ´forgotten´ on the board.
My Q is: What would be the phrase/name of a automatic delete function? Since it hasn´t to do with annotation, I assume its not forward/back-annotation!?
Is there any such function as an automated delete of ´orphaned´ board components?
And how to set Kicad to perform the automated delete?

Thank You so much

In the popup window that appears when you update the board, did you tick the checkbox Delete extra footprints?
