Uniprint Manual Stencil Printers Anyone?
« on: February 25, 2019, 04:37:26 pm »
Does anyone have or previously owned a UniPRINT Manual Stencil Printer that can share pros and cons?

I cant find any videos or reviews online; but their setup looks very high quality.

Not as such.....  However many of  the PBT printer models were sold by Essemtec and I know people were very fond of the FA23 (sp150 in essemtec speak). It wouldn't be a huge leap to assume the lower end models were equally good at their own level. From what I can see they look to be about as good as a "manual" printer can get.
Vertical PCB separation
Even pressure on the squeegee
Well built
Won't be cheap
Might not support Chinese cheap framed stencils meaning you might need to buy a self tension stencil frame and buy foils for the system you choose e.g Genesis, Zelflex, Vectorguard (there are many). This all depends on how much you can adjust its stencil clamping width and would be the kind of thing you need to check.

Sometimes you can't beat some hands on fiddling.
The PBT is very high end for a manual printer, you might see it and think this is way over the top, the eBay chinese ones are super basic and very small and as you may have noticed... manncorp ones, also not cheap but may give you an idea of the kind printers out there, same goes for http://www.pcbunlimited.com/t/smt-equipment/smt-stencil-printers/. The pricing suggested on some of these seems insane to me, you could probably get the parts custom machined for less in some cases. We build batches of boards between 1 & 250 most of the time and do all that on a manual printer way more basic than the PBT. The downsides are needing to jerry rig things for double sided boards because simple printers don't have a nice board holding/support system like that and holding the squeegee in your hands means the angle and pressure won't be as consistent as it might be with the squeegee is powered or mounted on a slide.

What about the Neoden PM3040 - from pictures only, looks slightly less crap than some of the other eBay/Aliexpress printers...

The PM3040 was the one I was thinking of getting; but I was able to get an used PBT; It should arrive tomorrow; so I hope it works well. The only struggle I have with PBT is that there is NO info online; I will like to know the pressure I need to use vertical separation.

here are some notes from Uniprint Lift modification installation manual:

The modification of UNIPRINT/UNIPRINT P to Lift/UNIIPRINT-P – Lift is made by
addition of pneumatic table lifting.
The lifting of screen printer table is controlled by hand valve placed in the front between
knobs.
The lifting of screen printer table is 3 mm. The print is always made in the upper position and
by letting down of the table is smudge of the printing motive by stencil prevented. Other
procedures are the same as for UNIPRINT.
There is needful supply of the compressed air max. 6 bar, the pressure is controllable by
regulation valve – placed from behind the screen printer.
The speed of lifting of the table is to set by the throttle valve on the output of the regulator.
The speed of letting down is to set by the throttle valve placed in the front right corner of the
bottom frame.
Important: The overly throttled valve of the compressed air causes uneven letting down or
lifting of the table. Setting of appropriate speed of the table is recommended.
Maintenance: no special maintenance required.

Thank you for the information. Do you happen to have a link or a copy of the manual that you can send me?

I just got my PBT Manual Stencil Printer and I must say it looks amazing. Weights more than 100lb; and the adjustment and movements seems smooth. Unfortunately, I have no manual so I don't know how to calibrate the machine.

Does anyone know how to adjust the squeegee pressure?
Also; for connecting the machine to the air compressor; all I need is a 6mm tube and the push-in NT fitting that goes/connects to an Air Compressor?

I attached a picture when I open the crate.

How much did you pay?

I sold 3 of these used for $1750/ea.  I never used it so can't give much help.  They did look awesome for a manual printer.

Around that price too. Do you happen to have any replacement parts? Specially Squeegees?
