Bond plexiglass to PCB
« on: February 22, 2016, 08:58:50 pm »
Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right section to ask. When I look at demo products for mTouch or QTouch, I see very nice looking flat surfaces with the PCB on the bottom.

While looking for ways to securely attach a plexiglass sheet to the PCB, I found this application note. At page 12 it cites as an example a tape from 3M, series 200. Has anyone tried this? Do you have any other methods that are easy enough for DIY?

I tried, it does work really well as long as you are careful applying it and can do so without introducing bubbles. The good thing that this tape is not permanent, it can be removed and reapplied, it does not leave a mess, but rather peels off nicely.

I have not tried any other method.

One downside is, I don't know if that tape is sold in small quantities, I've only seen it in huge rolls, which are quite expensive.
