Looks like Seeedstudio lost their customer list
« on: March 11, 2019, 11:58:52 am »
Got a spam this evening offering PCB assembly services, to an address that's only used with Seeed, from a place called "BokTech".

Guessing Seeed had someone walk with their database.

The other possibility would be one of my orders got outsourced to them, and Seeed gave all the details but all my PCBs are either basic 1.6mm HASL or odd combinations that they don't do, so I doubt that.

I got one too just a couple of hours ago. I was wondering where they got my address, now I know!

I got an email too, marked it as a phishing scam and deleted it.
Where does all this test equipment keep coming from?!?

Some years ago I once orderded PCB's from Seeed, and unfortunately I used a somewhat regular E-mail address. After that I made a filter for "seeed" and anything gontaining it gets into the spambox.

Usually I use disposable e-mail adresses for such things and simply dump the whole e-mail address as soon as spam is being send to it, or I simply do not even check such e-mail adresses for incoming messages at all.
