Cheap manufacturer of 3 and 4 oz PCBs
« on: December 04, 2017, 01:25:01 am »
Hi All,

Looking to upgrade a PCB from 2 oz to 3 or 4 oz. I had a look on PCB shopper and ALLPCB came up as the cheapest, by far but when you actually go to their website they don't actually offer it.

Leadtime isn't super important

Thanks!

Whenever you see an error like that on PCBShopper, please let me know. There's a Contact Us form you can use. I'm very responsive.

I have fixed the ALLPCB results so that they don't show up on PCBShopper when the copper weight is > 2 oz.

I tried your site couple weeks ago, and AllPCB came up on top for all results (such as 3/4mil trace width etc. etc.) even though they don't offer it.

Huh, I was looking just the other day and didn't see allpcb. Or maybe I don't remember..

FWIW, I've ordered 3oz from PCBCART before, which turned out nice.  They used the strong kind of soldermask, that doesn't scrape off easily like the usual proto junk.  Silk and mask alignment were on par.

Makerfabs supply the 3oz or 4oz PCB copper weight, but it needs the clearance at least 12 mil(for 3oz) and 16 mil(for 4 oz), i have made 3 oz PCB there are quality good. have a try . https://www.makerfabs.com/Premium-PCB-Service.html

Yeah. On Nov. 29th, I changed the code for ALLPCB to fix the trace width, drill, and board thickness options.

What happened was, ALLPCB used to offer more options, and I coded PCBShopper that way. Then, ALLPCB cut the number of options on their form (without telling me, natch), but their back-end code that calculates price didn't change. PCBShopper works by submitting queries to that back-end code.

The best solution would be for PCBShopper to get the web form and parse the HTML to see what all the options are. That would be a real PITA though. Maybe what I should do is just check every day for changes in the form. At least then, I'd be alerted when they change their options.

Yeah, I think I'll do that.

I suppose you could sort of forge your own standard.  Tell them they have to follow a schema (might be an Offer, or a custom subclass) to get their place on PCBShopper.

Good luck getting anyone to follow it though? ::)

Thanks again for the resource, BTW.

Thanks Tim!

PCB Cart looks like a really good option, I can get 4oz for about the same as 3oz from PCBway!

What was lead time like?

Average; what it says on the label, 2-3 weeks or whatever.

Pilleya,

We make PCBs in Brisbane.

Can do 4 ounce protos in 24 to 48 hours.
