I don't think it's useful to include retail/distributor sources in this list (unless they have some own-brand items not available elsewhere) - maybe better to split this into a seperate list.
The big challenge is finding the right enclosure - from then you can look for their distributors etc.

No problem, I've split the two entries. A retail list is now a seperate Manufacturing & Assembly item. Its a bit of a work in process.

While the manufacturers have most of them, I have found quite often that the retailers have surplus / unusual  or other items that they don't list. For example parts express have the Penn-Elcom extrusions that I quite like - the only easy source I know of.

This company manufactures metal enclosures, specializing in "custom  modified" standard version, nice finish.
They will punch, silk screen or mill and route even at prototypes or small series quantity.

Dirt cheap - and i mean DIRT CHEAP small-size die-cast enclosures as well (think guitar pedals and whatnot)

That being said, how feasible would it be to perhaps also classify the list in the first post, by geographical location (as well)? Or at least indicate where each are based?

I think everyone will agree, even if you find some good-looking affordable items, often the shipping and/or customs can really be quite the buzz-kill, to say the least  :rant:

Anyone know of a source for boxes/enclosures with cutouts for standard sized LCD displays?  It always seems a bit of a pain to have to cut a slightly ugly opening, then cover it with a bezel (which is what I've been doing).
