DIY Vacuum Pick Up Tool
« on: February 26, 2019, 02:14:21 pm »
Hi All,

Looking to make a Vacuum pick up for SMT, 0603 is the smallest component.

Would this pump be suitable or overkill?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

That is overkill.   The is a roughing pump for a vacuum system.  I would work.  You would want to put inline filters so as not to suck dust and particles into the pump.

if something can select, how cant it be intelligent? if something is intelligent, how cant it exist?

That one looks perfect for a pick-up tool, and reasonably priced as well.

I personally wouldn't recommend a piston pump like that, a diaphragm pump will be quieter and a bit more amenable to continuous use under vacuum.
