Installing labels, laminated keypads and the like.
« on: December 15, 2016, 06:23:33 am »
Are there any tricks to installing laminated polycarbonate / polyester labels and keypads?

I try to start at one edge but tend to get them askew and partly stuck down and then have to carefully peel off and start over.

For labels with a circular hole (say for a switch or similar) I've put a dowel in the hole for guidance which has helped.
Lining up keypad tails is a PITA.

Pre-clean the surface with IPA?
Just rub the label over by hand or use a firm roller?

Any tips?

Depends of used adhesive, read the factsheet..

Some use water tolerant adhesive, those are easy fit.. Spray fine mist with water mixed with few drops dishwash detergent.
Then slide onto Place, press excess moist from beneath with spatula or rag.
