PCBWay (and others) assembly part pricing
« on: October 21, 2024, 09:49:29 am »
Good morning

As a new more KiCAD project comes up I thought I might give those prototype assembly a go.
For example I can just export a PCB design directly to PCBWay where I can choose various options.

Now when I choose the assembly service and that PCBWay should source the parts, are those part prices already included in the calculation shown?
Or do you get charged after ordering for the parts separately?

It's on their website:
https://www.pcbway.com/helpcenter/pcb_assembly_ordering/Assembly_cost_will_be_showed_after_submit_order_is_components_cost_included_.html
Basically if they didn't review a BOM, your price is never final, as part prices are wildly varying. Just assume it isn't.
