need help identifying silicone substance
« on: November 14, 2021, 03:57:43 pm »
I may have placed my thread:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/searching-for-silicone-type-sealantglue-reddishorange-color/
in the wrong subforum.

Would appreciate if someone could help in identifying what product
the silicone substance is so that I can put the plastic head together again.

Looks just like the regular variety of high temperature RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization) silicone.
Link as an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324520789130?epid=2254565798&hash=item4b8ef2448a:g:fQQAAOSwABBfDKc0

update: I have read your other thread and I still think that about any RTV silicone bought from an automotive shop will work just fine. The oil resistance should not be a problem, this silicone is used for making gaskets for cars.
