PCB makers over the xmas break?
« on: December 14, 2016, 12:58:47 am »
bummer - missed the PCBWay cut-off date, and it looks like weeks before they are back in normal production.
Does anyone have info on similar fabs that can still deliver by new year? Std stuff, 1, 2 and 3oz
Hello <tap> <tap> .. is this thing on?

Yep, Chinese New Year celebrations are earlier this year:

So do all PCB fabs close Jan 22th to Feb 3rd? Because it looks like I need a PCB to be made in exactly that period.

It's difficult to find out exactly when, is why I asked. If it is a chinese based company, then they definitely close for CNY, but differing dates.
Then add xmas-new year holidays, and it's a mess !! PCBWay has a 1 week return during the 2 breaks, but they suggest .. don't bother !! :-)

I too use Chinese suppliers but at the same time and in order not to get into a single source issue I use

Ei PCB Factory in Eastern Europe      http://eipcb.rs/

A little bit costlier than Chinese sources but available when China turns the lights off.

The person to talk to is Maja Jovic. Typically the factory delivers a four layer run within four to five days.

PCBCart say they will be up and running:

"Most PCB Fab houses in western countries will be off duty during the holiday season. As a benefit of picking up China-based PCB solution providers, your PCB orders with us will be produced and dispatched as usual. Isn’t it exciting to have your PCBs on your desk when you get back from holiday? Quote and order PCBs online now or during the holidays! "

They only have a 3 day break over the (European) New Year and then another break at the end of Jan.

Perfect. Good prices and lead times. Some poor sods will be working right through.
Edit: What the heck does V-scoring limitation mean? 55mm x 55mm ? Min length? Do these people only V-score the full length of the panel ?

Take a look at fusion pcb https://www.seeedstudio.com/fusion_pcb.html a prototype pcb manufacturer from China as pcbway, excellent quality and service, they would delivery during new year but i'm not sure whether they still delivery during the Chinese spring festive or not, just be noted.

No it means the minimum board size for V-scoring (V-grooving as it is often called) is 55mm x 55mm.

Do these people only V-score the full length of the panel ?

Of course. V-grooving uses a mechanical cutting wheel. It commences its run just before the panel's edge & finishes its run just after the panel's edge.

I'm not aware of any Christmas break here in china.
CNY everything is down. So if you need pcb goto (eastern) EU or locally

It seems Eurocircuits is closed for only 1 week (last shipments on the 23rd of December).

I am not sure but you may check with pcbway, pcbshoppers, pcbcart, pcb123, etc. The trustable resources for PCB online shopping.

Hey digsys, have you got PCB manufacturing done on Xmas break? Let us know if you still need any help.

Yes thanks. PCBCart came through perfectly, right through xmas - new year. Quality as good as / close enough to anything I've had locally in the past.
I won't likely need anything during chinese NY, so I made it :-) Surprisingly, even 2 component orders from USA / Europe UPS/DHL also arrived in a similar
time period. Very happy :-) Pre-production all this week.
Thanks for asking
