FK260MI22O heatsink with no board slot?
« on: December 07, 2023, 01:03:28 pm »
Hi,
We wish to use this heatsink, but just clip it over the TO220 FET....ie, not have a slot for the base piece ("blade") . Is that OK?
(Its the NFET of a 48W flyback with 24Vin.)

We dont want the heatsink going through the board, as it would interfere with tracking below.
We wouldnt mind having a little surface mount pad to solder the "blades" to. Is that OK?
But really we just want to clip the heatsink on and no more...would that be OK?

You tell us. You're the only one who knows anything about the operating [and shipping] environment. Either way, stop asking bloody stupid questions.
